The BA Cultural Outreach Sector organizes a seminar to discuss the novel The Prayer of Anxiety by Mohamed Samir Nada on Tuesday, 17 June 2025, at 7:00 pm, at Sinnari House in Cairo.

The seminar will be attended by Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the BA, and the novel will be discussed by Prof. Khairy Douma, Professor of Modern Arabic Literature at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, and Prof. Sherine Abouelnaga, Professor of English at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University. The seminar will be moderated by writer Hend Gaafar.

It is worth mentioning that The Prayer of Anxiety is the novel that won this year's International Prize for Arabic Fiction. It portrays mysterious events that take place in an isolated village in Upper Egypt that is living under the influence of war. Despite being cut off from the outside world, its inhabitants suffer from an epidemic and find themselves caught between myth and reality, as eight people talk about their lives and daily struggles, each carrying a piece of the mystery of the village.
