In a new scientific achievement that reflects Egypt's academic status and the BA’s leadership in the fields of scientific research and linguistic studies, the Abgadiyat periodical, published by the Library’s Writing and Scripts Center, has been included in Scopus database, one of the largest and most important academic and scientific citation databases in the world, launched by the international publisher Elsevier.
The decision to include this publication followed a thorough review by the Scopus content selection advisory board, which praised the quality of its content and its compliance with international academic standards. The committee commended the periodical for its rigorous scientific research in the fields of ancient inscriptions and world history of language and writing, emphasizing that its topics are of particular importance to researchers in the fields of linguistic studies, ancient writings, and writing systems over the centuries.
Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the BA, expressed his pride and delight at this achievement and the international recognition of the quality of the BA’s research output. He also stressed that the Library prioritizes supporting sound scientific publishing and ensures that all its academic publications undergo rigorous scientific peer reviewing and specialized language proofreading.
It is worth noting that Abgadiyat is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that has been published by the BA Academic Research Sector’ Writing and Scripts Center since 2006, in collaboration with the international publisher Brill. It specializes in publishing the latest studies and research on world writings, calligraphy, and inscriptions through the ages.
