Reading al-Ostaz (the Professor) Play at the BA

The BA Multimedia Library will hold its monthly session for play reading on Wednesday, 30 May, at 15:00 hrs.
Participants will read al-Ostaz (the Professor) Play by Saad El-Din Wahba. The reading will be recorded at the BA Reception desk.
The play tackles the idea of communication among people at all times and places, and how they communicate with each other and with the authorities. The events of the play took place in a city, whose inhabitants were afflicted by a strange disease, causing total deafness, they talked but could not hear. The Queen sought the help of a specialized professor to find a cure for the case. The professor failed to do anything, with all his knowledge and experience. Then the situation was reversed, the people were treated from deafness, but suffered from dumbness, they hear, but could not talk. The professor tries another treatment. So, some can talk and could not hear, and others can hear, but could not talk!! Thus, a conflict arises between the two groups.
