A Seminar on Arts and Multimedia at the BA

Alexandria—the BA will host on Thursday, 14 June 2007 a seminar entitled "Arts and Multimedia" within the framework of Rami Project, under the auspices of Atelier of Alexandria, Dawar Shams in Beirut, ZINC/ECM in Marseille, and Studio Azzurro Ricerca in Milan.
The seminar will be chaired by Dr. Mohamed Rafik Khalil, Chairman, Atelier of Alexandria, and Claudine Dussollier, ZINC/ECM in Marseille. Speakers are Nahla Mattar, Composer, Educator, and Researcher currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt; Abdo Nawar, Film Director and Producer, and Director of SHAMS Artistic institution; Emmanuel Vergès, Director of ZINC/ECM institution; and Delphine Tonglet, Public Relations Officer at ASTAR in Milan.
On the other hand, workshop entitled "International Encounters on Arts and Multimedia" will be held at the BA and Atelier of Alexandria from 6-15 June 2007.
The workshops are held within the framework of Rami Project, organized by the French cultural Center and the BA to promote plastic arts skills through modern technological techniques of digital arts and multimedia.
It is worth mentioning that Studio Azzurro Ricerca is a centre for artistic video experimentation and production and was founded in 1982. ZINC/ECM, for several years, has developed a network of actors who work with the new cultural practices linked to the new technologies in the artistic and educational fields. Dawar SHAMS (The Sunflower) encourages and promotes young creations by following up artists and organizes numerous festivals and encounters in performing arts, audiovisual and multimedia. SHAMS introduces training and critical discussion platforms to promote artistic development to the public.
The seminar will start at 15:30 hrs. at the BA Arts and Multimedia Library.
